Planning

• Plan early (example), book lodging first, then, buy airline tickets
• Arrange for animals/fish/plant care early (lock friends' promises)
• If you plan beach vacation consult your personal monthly health cycle and choose days accordingly
• Research, research, and more research...

Packing

• Pack all your skin care, tooth paste, nail polish, etc., in transparent ziplock bags, so you do not have to do it in the airport

Departure

• Do not let your personal correspondence and other personal thing lay freely around the house
• Check economy parking availability, look into other airport provided parking options
• Check once again from what airport you depart (there were cases when people living in multi-airport cities went for a wrong one)
• Make a picture of your car on the airport parking lot; if you find your car damaged upon return, you will have that proof (please do it and you'll thank me later)

• Try to get late check out, as late as possible (3 pm is very good) at the reception desk (you will be able to go for a swim, take a shower, pack, and leave as a civilized person)
